WRI Beijing office is seeking two highly self-motivated graduate students to be research interns for China Climate Program.

Position Summary:
The World Resources Institute (WRI) Beijing office seeks two research Interns (at least 30 hours per week) in the summer semester. The term will be three month.

The interns will support current Climate Team’s projects including Greenhouse Gas (GHG) accounting at city level, climate policy assessment and GHG data quality assurance and control (QA/QC).

Major Responsibilities:

The Research Intern will support China Climate team in the following areas, including:
• Research (70%)
o Search for related data for research
o Process data and information with professional software
o Draft summary referring to data and information
o Conduct literature review and draft report
o Copyedit reports and working papers
o Other research activities per requests
• Translation (20%)
o Maintain translation database. Gather terms from translated materials and update the database regularly.
o Draft translation per request of team members.
• Administrative Affairs (10%)
o Supply administrative support per the request of team members

Qualifications:

• Enrolled graduate student for degree in Environment, Economics or public policy related majors
• Familiar with climate change policies and issues and/or with statistics and policy analysis background is preferred
• Well in research and analysis
• Fluency in Chinese and English
• Response to request in a timely manner
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
