Job description

The intern will assist a Senior Business Manager (BM) of Government Affairs Department working with Banking, Insurance and Legal Working Groups. The intern will touch upon Chamber-level policy advocacy work, as the Senior Business Manager is at the same time Senior Policy & Advocacy Advisor of the Chamber.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Research on hot industry topics and important trends regarding trade between China and the EU; compiling weekly newsletters;

2) Supporting the activities of the Working Groups, including organizing WG meetings, drafting meeting minutes, coordinating among members and facilitating dialogues with the government, embassies and think-tanks;

3) Responding to inquiries on Chinese laws, regulations and policies; translating documents occasionally;

4) Participating in lobbies or seminars with Chinese government and EU counterparts, drafting lobby reports as well as the European Business in China Position Paper.

Stipend:

2,000 RMB starting from the 4th month.

Qualifications

What you look for on interns:

1) Excellent English is a must (please indicate your TOEFL/IELTS/GRE score on your CV);

2) Interest in at least one of the following: international affairs, relevant industry (financial service, etc.), public plicy, Europe.

3) Communication skills, reliability and sense of responsibility.

4) Knowledge or experience in relevant industry is a plus but not a prerequisite.
