Position: Visa and Consular Officer
Full time - Temporary position (1 Sept. – 31 March)

The Danish Embassy is looking for an energetic and systematic person for a position as Visa and Consular Officer for employment as soon as possible.

Job Description
You will be part of a busy department, whose work primarily consists of handling visa applications from Chinese citizens going to Schengen. The demand is constantly increasing and there is great focus on our work from both Danish and Chinese authorities. Your job will be to handle the cases in a service minded way, while you also show that you can manage the Schengen rules.
The work comprises important control functions in connection with the visa issuing and you must show an understanding for and the ability of scrutinizing visa applications and also showing great thoroughness and responsibility in your work in general.
You should display sound judgement, efficiency and be able to deliver results with a high service level, which represents Denmark’s already good reputation in China.
You will also assist Danes in China with passport applications and sometimes more complicated consular cases.
The work requires that you have an assertive personality and are able to keep the overview under pressure.


Qualifications
We are looking for a team-player, who delivers a high level of service, efficiency and attention to detail.
◾Relevant higher education
◾Good language skills: fluent in Chinese and English. Knowledge of Danish language is an advantage, but not a requirement
◾Relevant work experience
◾Sense of detail in each case combined with the ability to see the visa work as an important part of presenting Denmark as an attractive country
◾Experience with working in a cross-cultural work place
◾The ability to work in a political environment
◾Assertive personality and the ability to handle difficult situations with a smile and in a competent manner

About the visa department
The department issues more than 10,000 visa per year to Chinese going to Denmark and Schengen. A great part of the visa applicants travel in the summer season and this is the busiest season of the year. We have both Danes and Chinese employed in the department.
