工作性质实习

position: intern for communication and information sector (ci), unesco office in beijing

duration: 5 february – 4 august 2015 (6 months)

location: beijing, china

 required qualifications:

- master degree or equivalent in communication, information sciences, public policy, international relations or other relevant field;

- fluency in english and chinese (oral and written). some knowledge of korean language is a plus;

- good communication skills, including writing skills;

- strong research and analytical skills;

- good computer and it skills and experience in using office software packages;

- awareness of the many facets of a multicultural world and commitment to international public service are essential.

responsibilities:

under the supervision of the programme specialist and the national project coordinator of the ci sector, the specific duties and responsibilities of the intern will include:

- conduct research on media policy and media development, journalism education, ict development, information accessibility for persons with disabilities and other relevant issue areas;

- provide support to the sector’s project and event management;

- proofread publications translated from english to chinese;

- translate various documents from chinese to english and vice-versa;

- assist in updating and maintaining the office website;

- take on additional responsibilities as required.

 important notes:

- the aim of the internship is to give you professional experience in an international organization which relates to and supplements your studies;

- an internship affords you the opportunity to work in a multicultural, intergovernmental organization;

- unesco does not remunerate or pay interns. costs and arrangements for travel, visas, and accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions;

- as the internship programme is not connected with the recruitment process, the grating of an internship should not be interpreted in any way as a preliminary step towards employment at the secretariat.
